Theatre Nurse Jobs in the Northern Cape 

The Northern Cape covers close to a third of South Africa's land area with a fraction of its nurses, and the province has been among the hardest hit by the national nursing shortage. For theatre staff, that has one practical consequence: your skills are needed here more than almost anywhere else, and units will work with you to make a placement possible. 

Kimberley anchors the province's referral and theatre load. Upington serves the Green Kalahari, Kathu and Postmasburg sit in the iron ore and manganese belt with the industrial injury that comes with it, Springbok covers Namaqualand, and De Aar serves the Karoo. Nursing Services of South Africa places scrub, anaesthetic, recovery, floor and CSSD staff across all of it.

• Scrub nurses for general, orthopaedic, gynae, urology, ENT and ophthalmic lists

Because distances are long and permanent theatre staff are scarce, most Northern Cape bookings run as blocks rather than single shifts, which suits nurses who want a defined run of work and a clear end date.

Locum doctors in the Northern Cape

What you need to register 

A South African ID or passport with a valid work permit, your SANC number and current annual practising certificate, police clearance, proof of Hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccination, your training certificates, proof of address, bank details, a SARS PAYE confirmation letter and two references.
