Job Title: Ophthalmic Nurse

Pay rates: Earn up to R284.00* per hour

We are urgently looking for Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses who are trained in Ophthalmology to join our dynamic team in Gauteng.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Experience:

3–5 years of nursing experience, including theatre experience (preferably in ophthalmology or similar disciplines).
Scrubbing experience in ophthalmic surgeries is highly advantageous.
Experience in other surgical disciplines is a bonus.
Training:

Operating Theatre Nursing (Medical & Surgical) certification/training.
Anaesthetic certificates or relevant experience are beneficial but not mandatory.
Skills:

Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments.
Strong communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in ophthalmic surgical procedures, ensuring sterile environments and proper handling of instruments.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for ophthalmology patients.
Collaborate with the surgical team, including anaesthetists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Perform scrubbing duties for ophthalmic and, where required, other surgical disciplines.
Monitor and support patients under local, regional, or general anaesthesia as needed.
Maintain accurate records and uphold compliance with health and safety standards.
